Oaklee's Birthday Party at the Park in Ogden May 9, 2009

Oaklee's Birthday Party at the Park in Ogden
May 9, 2009

" We can Learn a lot from Children,
through interaction and observation" ~ ABH 06'

Oaklee, my cute Niece celebrated her 3rd birthday at the Park in Ogden. It was a blast. She cracks me up. Her favorite saying is; "I do it, I do it myself!" She is such a mini Elizabeth (her mom) in that way. We had pizza, cake and drinks. It was kind of a chilly day but it didn't rain which was way good. She recieved a bike from Jory's (her dad) paren'ts. When she got on it to ride she didn't want to have anyone help her at all it made me laugh. Oaklee fell off twice, but got right back up again and had not trouble after that, she was actually laughing at herself for that reason. I had to laugh because that is so me, because I fall I laugh at myself. I didn't get a picture of this. After she opened all of her presents including mine which was a Mrs. Mermaid Potato Head, she wanted to play with it then and there. Elizabeth told her that was not a good idea because she didn't want her to loose any of the pieces. After the party was all cleaned up Oaklee Haelee (Older sister and Brittany wanted to play at the Park, which was right by where we were.. Oaklee wanted to swing in this one swing that she couldn't fall out of... Oh once she was in there she didn't want to get out of it.. However back stepping a second before she did the swing she Haelee and Brittany went and played on the climber and slide. I got some way cute Pictures of them playing together.. The First Picture on here is Oaklee on the Climber and she got right up in the Camera and and said Cheese!!! However when it was time to go she didn't want to get off the swing.. Elizabeth and Jory decided that Oaklee needs a swing set in the backyard. She doesn't have one yet but one of these days she will have one. I was the only one to get her off her swing... It was a very fun party. I am glad that I was able to go.. The dates kept getting changed around... There was too many things going on in May, so I almost didn't make it.

Blue October and The Hours March 31,2009

Blue October and The Hours
March 31, 2009 At The Depot
" Music Soothes the Savage Beast."
~ George Careless

Rachel and I went to the Blue October Concert at The Depot.. However we didn't know that there was going to be an Opening Act and low and Behold there was. The Band that opened from them was The Hours.. The leader singer looked goth, but they had a U2 sound which was way awesome. However some of their songs were screamo!!! Yikes!!! I am not a big fan of Screamo.. Rachel and I had never been to the Depot so we didn't know what to expect.. There are three floors and on the second or main floor is where they have the stage and an open floor that is for GA (General Admisson..) The third floor is all tables and chairs and balcony that you can look over and see everything.. Rachel and I wish now that we had reserved seating which is the third floor and some of the second floor, so basically we were standing the whole time... It was great for the most part.. We meet three really nice girls that we talked to for a while and we also met a couple of cute guys that were really nice.. They were drinking, thier choice of course along as it didn't spill on me. The reason why I say that is we were in a very small space and a lot of people were walking through with beer and they got really close and I could just see them spilling on me and Rachel. Yuck!!! Besides that and a really annoying couple that wouldn't stay in thier own body space that concert was way fun... Blue October was AMAZING!!! The electric violin guy really did a great job along with the bass and the drummer... Justin the lead singer I guess went to HS with a couple of guys from the band which I thought was awesome!!! He sang some songs from his Foiled album such as Hate me, Into the Ocean, and Congratulations.. I love those songs and then he sang almost all of the songs from the new album called Approaching Normal. My favorites were; Jump Rope Dirt Room, My Never and Blue Skies.. Back in August he toured with Stephenie Meyer on her Breaking Dawn Concert Series.. Blue Skies and My never were played on the tour. It was awesome to hear those songs before they were released on the album... Which I just got... My Never was written for Jacob!!! Over all the concert was great and I am glad that we went... I think next time we will get reserved seating..

Born March 7, 2009
(These Pictures were taken March 8, 2009)
"Motherhood is more than bearing children..
It is the essence of who we are as women."
~ Sheri L. Dew

Greyson Joseph Halbern Hughes, was born March 7, 2009 at the IHC Hospital in Salt Lake City, to my sister Sarah and Bro -in -law Eric. He is the First baby Grandson and Nephew in the Family well in our immediate family, which is very exciting. Greyson weighed 5lbs and 6 ounces. He is a very cute baby. Sarah had a c-section due to the fact that Greyson's lungs were filled with Fluid and if Sarah's water had not broken then he may have not made it, which is very sad to think about.. After he was born he was taken the the NICU because he had problems breathing and so the doctors and nurses wanted to monitor his breathing.. He was only there for about a day before he was taken back to the room to be with Sarah and Eric. We all prayed that he would be okay, I even called the Temple and put his name on the prayer roll. Actually I did that with Sarah and Eric's Names also.. I did this before he left the NICU and a few hours later Sarah called and said that he was out of the NICU. The power of prayer is amazing and I am glad that I had a feeling that I needed to do that.. My Mom Dad and I went and saw the little family on Sunday... This is when I took these pictures on the 8th of March... I was able to hold him and it was amazing.. Little babies are a wonderful gift from Heavenly Father.. I am glad that I was able to be there to hold my little nephew.. He is a very Content little one.. Eric's family was there to to celebrate with us.. Sarah and the baby went home on the following tues.. My mom and Aunt Sally went to her house and cleaned it so when she returned home she would not have to do anything but be with Eric and Greyson.. Iam greatful for wonderful families...

Sarah's Baby Shower February 21, 2009 at Sally's

Sarah's Baby Shower
February 21, 2009
@ Sally's
" Childhood is not from birth to a certain age and at a certain age the child is grown and puts away childish things. Childhood is the kingdom where nobody dies."
~ Edna St. Vincent Millay
My Mom,Sally and Shelly through a baby shower for Sarah at Sally's in Salt Lake.. It was fun... it was a beautiful day to have one, so we were able to keep all of the windows open so that the room wouldn't feel so stuffy... There was refreshments. My mom made Duck shaped chicken salad sandwhiches along with other yummy treats... Sally Put me incharge of making limeade.. I had never made limeade before, but it wasn't too hard. Sarah and mom tasted it before any of the guests drank it... Sarah's Friends' Sarah and Misty came. I have not seen them for years.. Literally years. It was so good to see them. They are both married, and Sarah has a little girl named Elliot but calls her Elle for short, misty on the other hand does not have children yet!! I was glad that my other sister Elizabeth made it, along with my cute niece Haelee.. Staci who is Sarah's sister- in-law brought her daughter Madision, which worked out because Haelee had someone to play with if they got tired of being there.. Harry Sally's dog was there to keep everyone company. Harry is way cute and very friendly. I forgot to mention Sally is my aunt and my mom's sister.. She has a very cute house that her and my Uncle John restored.. Shelly my sister 's friend who also help throw the shower made a very yummy crab dip.. She was very helpful, she is the one who wrote down all the gifts that Sarah recieved from everyone.. My mom's two close friends Mary Silver and Melanie Neville came to the Shower. I don't get to see them very often so that was way fun, that they could make it... There were games that were played at the shower such as How Big is Sarah's tummy, the binky game in which you were not able to say certain words and guess how many jelly beans were in a bag, which turned out to be a prize.. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed eachother's company... We were all tired by the end of the Shower... I am glad that Sarah's Friends's help clean-up!!!

The Good the Bad and the Guilty Murder Mystery Party.. Feb. 7, 2009

The Good the Bad and the Guilty
Murder Mystery Party, February 7, 2009
" We do have zeal for laughter in most situations, give or take a dentist."
~ Joseph Heller

Brenda and I co-hosted a murdery mystery party at my house on Feb. 7, 2009. It was a blast.. However bless Brenda's Heart she didn't realize that there were suppose to be 4 guys and 4 girls not 3 girls and 5 guys.. So the Part of "Butch Chastity" was really a girl!! oh well Eric played along nicely it just made everything that he or she was accused of very funny!!! It was fun.. Brenda was a little nervous because she wanted the whole night to go perfect. In most cases it was.. We had a fun group of people that played along well, especially Casey with his need for 3 things: a Squaw, fire water and a peace pipe.. Granted his character was named "Chief Breaking Wind" He mentioned that his Tomahawk was a peace pipe!! The whole night was a blast.. My poor character Helena Handcart of course pronounced (Hell in a handcart) well what can I say after having 13 boys.. They all died on a pigeon ranch well shot to death by the Elvira... (Brenda's Character) but the corrupt sheriff took the blame!!! Then P'Elvis (Sean's Character) turned out to be gay and I had dementia who ran around in my underwear and confused as ever not to mention my husband went crazy and I had to lock him up in the attic. Butch (Eric's character) he is my fellow train robber, but I kiddnapped the Sundance Kidd ( a goat) because I wanted the Judge dead (long story on that one) But poor Billy the Kidd who belonged to Butch was butched himself and Left in Elias's bed, well the head of the poor goat, which is (Tom's character) So over all we have Brokeback mountain, and the Godfather.... This game was out of control, but in the end it was Elvira who was the Murderer (another long story)... It was a very fun night!!

Snow College Basketball Game January 31, 2009

Snow College Basketball Game
January 31, 2009

" Talent wins games, but teamwork wins championships."
~Michael Jordan

Emily Rachel and I decided to go to a Snow College Basketball game and Suport Brad, the other coaches and the team of course... I wasn't sure at first if I was going to be able to go but it worked out that we could all go.. Brad was very generous in getting us tickets... The game was awesome... Snow has some really amazing players, especially, # 15, 32, and 20. It was a small gym I felt like I was back in HS at the Davis High Field house watching a game.. What do you expect for a junior college... They played against SLCC who is really good, but they gave them a run for their money, so to speak... At first they were ahead then behind and then way behind, but they were playing hard and the last 3 seconds of the game, Rachel Emily and I REALLY thought that they were going to loose, but then a miracle happened and #20 made a basket from half court it was AMAZING!!!! It was one of the most entertaining games that I have ever witnessed... #20 is a great player... After the game we had the chance to hang out with Brad before heading back to Farmington.. It was great to see him.. Emily and Rachel took a picture of the the two of us.. Geez they didn't plan that one at all. It was happy to do it.. The picture turned out way cute!!! I forgot how fun BB games are.. I am way glad that we went... One note I fogot to include was that there were these two little kids that were watching the game and boy did they look enthused... Eventually they got into the game.. I couldn't resist taking a picture!

More From New York October 29,-November 2, 2008

More From New York October 29, -November 2, 2008

" The world is like a Kaleidoscope. The more you look at and the people in it everything starts to look a little brighter and a little more peaceful."

~ ABH 07'

Here are some more pictures from New York that I took. I am glad that I had the chance to visit New York. My Family is great. There is always a funny moment or a dramatic moment. Either way we are always able to laugh our way through situations good or bad. When I was in New York in 02' and 98 I didn't have the oppurtunity to visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island but this trip I went with my mom and dad to both of those places.. Wow it for sure worth it. The first picture is of Elizabeth, Jory Sarah and Eric at the Rockefeller Center.. That was a neat place to visit. The picture on the left is my mom and dad on the fairy to Ellis Island and The Statue of Liberty. The one in the center is a Catherdral in Manhattan and the picture on the right is of course The Statue of Liberty. I always thought that the Statue of Liberty was way bigger but oh well, it was still neat to see. Over all It was a great trip..

Outing with Friends at Red Robin, December 29, 2008

" Between loving friends there need be no secrets... The trusting heart is always safe with another who truly cares."

~ Joan Walsh Angland

Jenn and Dustin were in Town so We all got together with them At Red Robin.. Here are some pictures from that Night.. I decided to Put them In Sepia Tone due to the fact the Red Robin had Terrible Lighting.. The First Picture is of Alaina and her Boyfriend Chandler... They are way cute together.. He is very nice and very Funny... There was a conversation that you had to be there for, but lets just say that Jenn, Dustin, Jenny, Chandler and I were making her blush.. It was Hilarious.. It was so Great To See everyone.. Jenn also found out that I was Visiting My Nana Bea in Cali, in July, and I was a few hours away from her and she was not too happy with me about that.. Honestly I didn't realize how close I was to her from Beverly Hills to Edwards California.. I thought she was near Las Vegas. I told her that I would make it up to her when I was in Cali next. The left Picture is of Sabrina and Katie.. I have not seen Katie since last May.. Sabrina is in my YSA ward so I see her every sunday, which is a good thing to keep tags on friends.. The picture right below is Jenn and Dustin. They are way cute together and looking at her you wouldn't know that she has 4 adorable children.. The last right picture is of my friend Jenny and I.. She is way fun and hilarious... It was a great night we all had a ton of fun...
